Bodywork

I have been seeking the elusive process of unraveling the body and clearing the mind for many years, finally now fusing the wisdom and subtlety of yoga and breath with the insight and clarity of Kinesis Myofacial Integration. This is a life changing and powerful exploration that continues each moment in yoga classes as well as in bodywork sessions. I am dedicated and driven to see the evolution of this work.

Please use the Contact page to arrange a bodywork session.

In preparation to receive bodywork:

  1. Wear undergarments/shorts/sports top that you feel comfortable in.
  2. Leave at least 45 minutes since your last meal.
  3. Refrain from the use of drugs prescribed or otherwise.
  4. And be prepared to discuss your health history bringing a doctors approval if necessary.

The session

Tom Myers on the Mistral

All too often we wear our bodies down without even realizing it. We carry our pain and stiffness around as if we had no choice. However, by working with the body's preferred postures and gently expanding the range of movement potential, these tensions can be eased. With the aid of isometrics, trigger point release, Myofascial Integration and yes, homework, your body will re-center. This unique sequence of opening the body will aid in soothing the joints, increasing flexibility, deepening the breath, improving circulation and relaxing the entire being, thereby creating greater balance, fluidity and alignment both physically and emotionally.

Afterwards

  1. Drink lots of water to flush the toxins freed from the muscle tissue during the session.
  2. Sleep; allow yourself a good nights rest to fully integrate the work.
  3. Take it easy; don’t go all out. You have just opened your mind and body, be gentle.
  4. Allow any emotions that come up to be fully expressed and clear themselves.
  5. Do your homework ;)
